ReKon Rentals Adds New Gear

Jon Kondrath

November 16, 2022

Throughout the past few years, film gear companies have been busy updating their technology and coming out with new and improved products. We have always been interested in what new gear can do, it’s fascinating to see the increase to output and RGB all while usually drawing less power (being a green company, we appreciate more power with less resource use).

We started playing with Aputure brand products with the LightStorm 300d mark II, which has been around for a while. Our team was super impressed with how bright the light was in a relatively small package. The kit was compact and easily transported, but still packed a bunch. After getting two of the 300d lights, we then looked into their more powerful units. Two new lights came to market and we were eager to get our hands on them – the Aputure LightStorm 600x Pro and the Aputure LightStorm 1200d Pro. The 600x Pro is a bi-color light and the 1200d has a massive amount of punch.

Already a big fan of the LiteGear line of products (the LiteMat Spectrums are one of our go to lights) we getting inquiries if we had the Hudson Spider in stock. So we started did our research on this crazy looking light, built on LiteGear technology, and added the Hudson Spider Redback to our inventory. The light is so new to us, we have only had the opportunity to use it a handful of times, but we were mightily impressed. The unit folds up so compactly, but then spreads out to a beautiful, large soft light! We used it for an interview with a massive amount of daylight fill, and the Redback created a glowing key light.

If you are interested in playing with or renting any of our new inventory please email us at rentals@rekonproductions.com or give us a call at 310.775.0555 ext 2. We would love to get these lights on to your sets so you can have as much fun playing with them as we did! You can check out our full inventory of lights at www.rekonrentals.com.
