Catch A Wave With Devin Foster

ReKon Intern

June 30, 2017

Since childhood, Devin Foster always had a fascination for film and television. She remembers waking up early in the morning on the weekends to watch cartoons and staying up late to finish movie marathons. She is always interested to see which television show is going to be a hit or what the next big cliff hanger will be on her favorite shows. She also started to create storylines for her favorite shows in her head hoping the shows would go in that direction (but they never did). She also began editing short videos at the age of 13 with the help of her computer teacher Mr. Heredia, who taught her how to use an iMac for the first time. Her love for editing grew from that time on and created her interest in both post/production.

Devin Foster is a Southern California girl, born and raised. She grew up in Riverside, CA, a city that is in the center of everything. She moved up to Thousand Oaks where she is a recent graduate from California Lutheran University as part of their Class of 2017. From there she received a Bachelors of Art in Communications with an emphasis in Film and Television Production, along with a minor in Business Administration. At Cal Lutheran, she was the treasurer/secretary for the CLU TV and Cinema Production Club,  a member of sketch comedy show In The Lu, and a member of CLUTV. She also co-produced and co-edited a short film in her Advance Cinema Production and Independent Study class, titled Sock, which received 2nd place at the 22nd Annual CLU Film Festival. She is also continuing her academic career at the University of Southern California in pursuit of a Masters in Communication Management to help give her a stronger understanding of the field of communication in film/television or sports media.

She hopes to continue her journey in film and television at ReKon Productions as their summer intern. She hopes learn more about the industry and the field of production through her internship, as well gain real world experience. She is also happy to be surrounded by talented individuals and caffeine addicts like her! Her future goals include shopping around her short film at small festivals, as well as learning.
